Two great choral works by Mozart the wonderfully joyful Coronation Mass and his final, much loved masterpiece the Requiem. The Coronation Mass is a radiantly joyful setting of the Mass. Festive and exuberant, it also includes a very beautiful soprano solo in the Agnus Dei. The Requiem is one of Mozarts greatest works. He didnt live to complete it but his pupil Sussmayr completed the final sections in accordance with Mozarts intentions. It is a powerful and dramatic work, ranging from the terrifying Dies Irae to the tender and lyrical Hostias one of Mozarts most sublime creations.
