Steven Bamidele

"BBC Introducing" calls him an unbelievable talent .Steven Bamidele is a London-based singer, songwriter, and producer. Born in Nigeria, he spent his formative years in Suffolk, before moving to Brighton. This upbringing is reflected in his lyrics, which explore themes of racial identity, family, and self-reflection. His debut album ‘Summing Up’, released on Tru Thoughts, has seen support from Clash Magazine, Jamie Cullum, Trevor Nelson, Tony Minvielle (Jazz FM), Gemma Bradley (BBC Radio 1) and KCRW. With influences ranging from Marvin Gaye and Radiohead to Lianne La Havas and Solange, his live performances have been compared to the likes of Michael Kiwanuka and Jalen Ngonda. Steven crafts his own unique and intricate sound, combining synth textures, syncopated beats, and reverb-drenched falsetto to create psychedelic forward-thinking soul.
