Strangers On A Train/War Of The Worlds - Riverside Drama Company

Based on the Alfred Hitchcock andHG Wells productions of the same name, come and join us for thrills, spills and audience interaction as we stage a double bill of radio play parodies (courtesy of Lever Brothers, the makers of Lux Soap!).
Firstly, "Strangers On A Train". This thriller (originally produced and directed as a movie by Alfred Hitchcock), concerns two strangers who meet on a train, one of whom is a psychopath who suggests that they "exchange" murders so that neither will be caught..but, of course, nothing quite goes to plan, and things take a sudden and dramatic twist! The question is: will they get awaywith Murder?
Secondly, we will be staging the radio play version of HG Wells' War Of The Worlds. This thrilling parody is based on the 1950s Hollywood film version of the famous story. One evening, whilst much of America is enjoying listening to a live music concert on the radio, the peace of the evening is shattered when it is announced that strange craft have been seen leaving Mars and heading straight for planet earth! But is this for the good of humanity, or do the Martians have different ideas? Find out all this and more in our thrilling, fun filled, earth shattering parody!
