Evan Williams is a charismatic 23-year-old singer-songwriter from Thanet, Kent signed to Peter Dohertys Strap Originals label. Evan continues to win audiences with the skilfully controlled vulnerability of his intimate solo shows, and wows large venue crowds with the added punch of his full band, featuring Rocco Marche (The Paris Match) on guitar, Sahib Dhinsa (Nick Diver, Wez King) on bass and Albie Lucas (Human Interest) on drums.
Evan has supported artists including Peter Doherty, The Libertines and Hak Baker. With his band, Evan played Tim Peaks Diner at Kendal Calling in 2023 and in November 2024, he supported The Libertines at NX Newcastle and three nights at the Albert Hall in Manchester, including a stunning set with his full band. Evan is constantly touring small venues around the country, solo or with the band.
Evan Williams debut album, The View From Halfway Down, is due for release via Strap Originals on 11th April. A single from the album, the western-influenced live banger Ride On, was championed by John Robb at Louder Than War and playlisted by So Young and Radio X.
The new album comes after Evan released a string of critically acclaimed singles in recent months, including the ever-popular crowd pleaser The Arsonist, which features on the NBA 2K24 soundtrack.
In support of his new album, Evan and the band are poised to hit the road. Live dates include supporting Peter Doherty on three of his March UK tour dates, a run of record shop in-stores and a showcase at Strap Originals' beach takeover at The Great Escape.
As a defiant champion of the alternative, Evans future might be fixed sparring in the shadows of the underground, but if hes caught in the searchlights, armed and equipped with his constantly surprising creative talent, hell come out fighting and win.
