David Wordsworth leads an evening celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Festival of Britain at the festival's church. The music this evening is from the pieces sung by the choirs that were invited to sing Evensong at St John's in 1951. This includes classics from Stanford, Bairstow,
SS Wesley (organist at St Johns 1829-30), Charles Wood, Holst and others. Singers should have some choral experience for maximum benefit from these sessions. Music is provided but bring your own refreshments.
