Talk: Urban Ecology with Professor Jason Luscier

Join us for a fascinating discussion with Dr. Jason Luscier, a wildlife biologist at Le Moyne College in New York State, USA. Jason specializes in urban wildlife ecology, with active research projects in both Syracuse, New York and Cork City, Ireland. His work explores how urban factorssuch as light and noise pollution, as well as socioeconomic variablesimpact the distribution of native wildlife in city environments.
In this seminar, Jason will also introduce CatTracker, a community science mobile app he developed to document sightings of free-roaming domestic cats. Learn how this innovative tool contributes to urban ecology research and how you can get involved!
Dont miss this opportunity to engage with cutting-edge urban ecology research and explore how everyday observations can contribute to science!
For those with particular knowledge of our bird populations in Bristol, please come along as Jason is keen to discuss opportunities to expand his work into other cities such as ours!
You'll find us in the Old Council Chamber (Room 1.11), Wills Memorial Building for a 7pm start.
