Come commemorate a historic accord at The George Tavern this July: the launch of TGT and The Crypt Studio’s new “Grassroots Rates” programme - a joint venture to get grassroots and underground bands into professional studios at accessible and sustainable rates. To celebrate, The Crypt Studio have assembled a stellar lineup - all of whom have performed and recorded under various guises at their beautiful North London studio: The Black Midi multi-hyphenate Cameron Picton will be bringing a one-off band to the George stage, fresh off recording the finishing touches of their new project at The Crypt. He’ll be joined by the new brilliant band of Jack Ogborne (Bingo Fury!) The Cindys - featuring Naima Bock, who recorded her sophomore album there, with Jack on production duties. Eveyln Gray, the former creative force behind Tapir! and the New Eves’ Nina Winder-Lind round off the stacked line-up - plus records spun by Skydaddy and The Crypt engineers from 5PM. “LONDON’S GRASSROOTS VENUES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF INDEPENDENT AND INSURGENT MUSIC COMMUNITIES. BUT THE INFRASTRUCTURE WHEN WANTING TO GET FROM THE STAGE TO THE STUDIO SEEMS LESS ACCESSIBLE FOR SELF-FUNDED MUSICIANS.
