This tragic incident caused two explosions which claimed 28 lives, including children. It caused widespread damage across Stowmarket and neighbouring villages, and the blast was heard as far away as Southwold, 32 miles away.
It also led to one of the earliest forensic investigations in the country.
Come and hear what happened, why the explosion was believed to have occurred, and the aftermath of the explosion.
There will also be an opportunity to view original photographs taken at the time, from the Stowmarket Local History Group Archive held at The Hold.
