The Alan Barnes Sextet Jazz Classics at Christmas

The 20th Century produced a host of great instrumental jazz tunes, written by masters of the idiom, that endure to this day. These are not songs from musicals buthandcrafted jazz classics written as vehicles for the greatest improvisers of their day.
The sextet will be playing a full programme of these well-known tunes, inventively reimagined for this group led by two of the countrys foremost jazz musicians. Barnes and Nightingale are both well established multi award winning soloists but with the addition of brilliant jazz trumpeter Pat White, this becomes a truly formidable front line. The equally star-studded rhythm section comprisesGraham Harvey on piano, Jeremy Brown on bass and Ian Thomas on drums.
