Animals & Friends are a seminal rhythm and blues band who continue to command deep respect from peers and fans of all ages. Audiences still respond passionately to classic songs from The Animals’ catalogue, including We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, Boom Boom, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, Baby Let Me Take You Home, I Put A Spell On You and the worldwide Number One, House of the Rising Sun. The current line-up features original Animals drummer John Steel, vocalist/guitarist Danny Handley (since 2009), Barney “Boogie” Williams on keys and backing vocals (since 2021), and Norm Helm on bass and backing vocals (since 2023). The Animals’ enduring influence was recognised when their 1964 debut was included in Classic Rock magazine’s 50 Albums That Built Blues Rock. The band have completed over a dozen major UK tours with celebrated guests including Spencer Davis, Booker T & the MGs, Steve Cropper, Maggie Bell and the late Mick Green.
