The Antipodes is "one long nightmare" as described by its writer, Annie Baker. Set in a conference room, eight people are trapped in a pitching meeting, sharing quirky anecdotes in order for the team to brainstorm a new story. While some of the colleagues are able to leave the room, stress builds for the others to meet a deadline. As the chaos outside begins to work its way into the stories people are telling, the audience is presented with some philosophical and fantastical remarks, making everyone question the purpose of the whole meeting. The play had its UK premiere at the National Theatre, London, in 2019 and is now coming to the Michael Pilch Studio, Oxford from the 3rd-7th June.
