The Ballad of the Underwater Daughter

The Ballad of the Underwater Daughter
Somewhere out there, in the murky no-man's-land between reality and 'are you pulling my leg?' there's a mechanical island inhabited entirely by dads. Bodged together out of mangled metal and broken dreams, Dad Island just about manages to hold itself together. Then one stormy night, a tiny barnacle encrusted bottle floats into the harbour with a note inside which reads 'remember me...?' Exquisitely rendered and darkly hilarious The Ballad of the Underwater Daughter is a fairy tale for grown ups told using puppets, props and machines built by Leeds' own theOBJECTproject- the company who may or may not have traumatised you last year with 'Pixiematosis' Warning - this show contains very strong language...and exploding dads. Suitable for adults and people aged 14+ 1hr 15 plus post show exhibition Written, designed and constructed by Marc Parrett with additional material by Tash Hudson and Directed by Frances Merriman
