The Bayeux Tapestry

To celebrate the landmark exhibition at the British Museum, curator Lloyd de Beer joins cultural historian and artist Amy Jeffs to unravel the fascinating story of one of our greatest artistic and historical treasures. Political intrigue and treachery, heroism and brutality, victory and defeat - all are woven into the Bayeux Tapestry, an epic account of a pivotal moment in English history. Almost 1,000 years after its creation, Lloyd and Amy explore the events surrounding the Norman Conquest, the deeds of kings and the precious details of everyday life in medieval Europe, as traced through the extraordinary narrative stitched within this 70-metre masterpiece. There will be a book signing after this event.
