The Dreamtime Fell Runner

The Dreamtime Fell Runner
The Dreamtime Fellrunner is a poetic, fun and moving exploration of Julie’s running exploits on the Lakeland fells. Presenting fellrunning as a type of land art and spiritual practice, this is an aesthetic performance which allows people to experience the beauty of a wonderful sport, regardless of their degree of familiarity with the fells and running. Emphasising body-mind-spirit-place connections, The Dreamtime Fellrunner encounters themes of feminism, land rights, ageism and ableism, history and literature, while carrying us on a journey through the Lakeland fells. The show consists of 60 minutes of immersive performance supported by a soundscape with original music. The shorter, more relaxed second-half features opportunities for discussion and reflection on our personal sources of beauty and connection, whatever they are. The Dreamtime Fellrunner will appeal to anyone interested in wellbeing, body-mind connection and the ways in which we inhabit our environments. ‘Authentic, unique and full of vitality, it is a special theatrical experience .’ - Liz Stevenson, Artistic Director, Theatre by the Lake Written and performed by Julie Carter. Directed by Daniel Bye. A Mindfell Production in Association with the Theatre by the Lake.
