Max Richter’s electric reimagining of Vivaldi’s masterpiece forms the heart of the programme, alongside Paul Drayton’s enchanting rescoring of The Lark Ascending for violin and choir. From their critically-acclaimed, “wonderful” (BBC Music Magazine) recording of music by Malcolm Arnold comes the “ravishingly scored” (Gramophone) John Clare Cantata, which movingly conveys the year’s revolving cycle from winter to winter. Long-time LCS collaborator, Jack Liebeck, joins the full choral and instrumental forces of the London Choral Sinfonia.
