The History of the Pianoforte in Words and Music with Gino Marchetti

Join us for a delightful musical afternoon and learn about the history and evolution of pianoforte music from its origins in the early 18th century to modern times. Pianist Gino Marchetti will play celebrated and less well-known compositions by Beethoven, Cimarosa, Chopin, Clementi, Debussy and Liszt. Expect to learn about the composers and their music with some fascinating insights into their connections with Scotland, such as Chopin’s visit to Glasgow in 1848. Gino Marchetti has studied music internationally at the University of Glasgow, the House of Artists in Prague, and Francisco Vinas Institute in Barcelona. He is a Fellow of the London College of Music and holds a L.T.C.L. From Trinity College, London. This event is a fundraiser for Dunoon Burgh Hall Trust.
