The KNDS Fairey Band was founded in 1937 by employees at the Fairey Aviation Works in Stockport and as a key contributor to the World War 2 war effort it is very appropriate that they have joined up with Stockport Armed Forces Community Organisation to put on this spectacular event with uplifting music to celebrate and commemorate 80 years since Victory over Japan In recent years the band has enjoyed further recognition outside the confines of the brass band movement with its involvement in the Acid Brass project. Under this banner, the Fairey Band has been able to display its flexibility in adapting to a totally different musical concept and has performed in rock and pop festivals in the UK and overseas.
