The Many Lives of PET
The Show Thank you for coming to The Many Lives Of PET #1 were very glad you are here with us. This show is about humanity's complicated relationship with plastics. It is a dramatisation of a report into future of these materials written by The Birmingham Plastics N e t w o r k ( a g r o u p o f o v e r 6 0 researchers at the University of Birmingham). We learnt a lot making the show and it has changed how some of us think and behave. It is about 55 minutes long and there is no interval - we hope you enjoy it. As usual we tried our best to avoid buying new things for the show and all the plastic items have been pulled from the rubbish and been repurposed. Schools In preparing for this show, members of the Birmingham Plastics Network and Stan's Cafe ran workshops with hundreds of Year 10 students in eight schools across the West Midlands. The show will be performed in these schools in the afternoons before public performances in the evening. The Tour If you value seeing theatre in this venue then please do let us know. Positive feedback will help us raise the money needed to make this kind of tour possible again. To avoid missing future Stan's Cafe productions please do sign up to our mailing list via our website and follow us on the social media platform of your choice. Context Greenpeace is currently big campaign about plastics and Friends of the Earth are similarly engaged. We have dramatised The Sustainable Plastics Policy Commission document so you dont have to read it, but it is very readable and we encourage you to do so. It can be downloaded via this QR code.
