The Singing Mermaid

The Singing Mermaid
‘Raucous fun! Bad puns, circus tricks and goggle-eyed jellyfish abound’ said The Guardian, and they were right! Three to eight year olds and their families will love this adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks’ hugely popular book, brought to life with beautiful puppetry and performance, and music and songs by Barb Jungr (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt).

One day the singing mermaid is tempted away from all of her sea-creature friends to join a travelling circus. The audiences love to hear her sing, but the poor mermaid was tricked! Instead of the swimming pool she was promised, she is kept in a small fish tank by the wicked circus master Sam Sly. She longs to return to the sea, but how can she escape? And who could help her along the way?

‘Here’s a lovely little show that makes a big splash’ ★★★★ The Times ‘..brings the world illustrated by Lydia Monks to gloriously barmy life’ ★★★★ Time Out ‘Musical shows for very young children don’t get much better than this.’ ★★★★ Musical Theatre Review
