THE TELESCOPES are something of a musical institution. 1989's debut album 'Taste' set the scene while their self-titled follow-up released 3 years later on Creation Records earmarked them as one of the most vital acts from that era. Having gone on hiatus before returning in 2002 with 'Third Wave', founder member Stephen Lawrie remains the driving force and in recent years they've been more prolific than ever, putting out 2 albums of very different sonic textures this year; 'Experimental Health' in February then 'For Tomorrow' in May. So it gives us great pleasure to welcome them back to Nottingham for a show that will see them draw upon their extensive back catalogue as well as feature material from their most recent records. Supporting we have one of the most exciting bands to emerge from The Netherlands vibrant musical underground. Groningen five-piece CLOUDSURFERS channel the spirit of Thee Oh Sees, Mudhoney and Sonic Youth into something groundbreakingly unique of their own. Their two drummers, twin guitars and bass led sonic assault makes them one of the most unmissable live bands on the planet right now. East Midlands based trio MARVIN'S REVENGE have been making a name for themselves around these parts in recent months with their grunge infused post-punk (think The Jesus Lizard flirting with The Chameleons or vice versa) so expect a set of aural intensity and sonic bliss, plus KARMA & Some Velvet Evening DJs playing throughout the evening.
