She began writing music at age 9. Her tiny stature is somewhat deceiving for she is a convincing balladeer, her sound feels established and displays a level of maturity and charisma beyond her years. Her jazzy tones cross different genres producing an original, unique sound. Recent releases have been supported by New Music Friday and Jazz UK Spotify. Ellie has taken inspiration from a wide variety of genre, blending jazz, soul, folk & blues with a touch of pop. Esperanza Spalding, Seal, Minnie Riperton, Erykah Badu, Alfa Mist, Thundercat & many more have played a role in shaping her music. Ellie has performed widely across London in her band, at notable venues including Ronnie Scotts, Soho House clubs, Omeara, PizzaExpress Live, Blues Kitchen and The Spice Of Life. Last year she independently put on two of her own shows held at PizzaExpress Live which both sold out. Members of the Ellie Harris trio include highly skilled Stanley Wickham on drums and Charlie Runham on bass, both attended Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
