Warwickshire Symphony Orchestra

Night on a Bald Mountain: Mussorgsky
Danse Macabre: Saint-Sans
Symphony No. 5: Mahler
conducted by Roger Coull
The centrepiece of this concert is Gustav Mahler's 5th symphony. This massive symphony, with its trajectory from mourning to triumph, reflects the development in its composers personal life. It includes Mahler's famous Adagietto which was used in the 1971 film, Death in Venice. The concert begins with two short pieces: Mussorgsky's Night on a Bald Mountain and Saint Sans' Danse Macabre.
