What If...? A Celebration of Children's Stories

What If...? A Celebration of Children's Stories
This May half-term St Thomas arts venue Alibi will be buzzing with activities and events for children and young people with What If...? a vibrant celebration of children's stories. Over eight days of free and ticketed programming there will be something for the whole family to enjoy, with events taking place throughout Alibi's home of Emmanuel Hall and their beautiful garden space. Former children's laureate and award-winning author Joseph Coelho will leave children brimming with enthusiasm to read, write and create their own stories, whilst critically acclaimed Scratchworks Theatre will present The Mushroom Show packed full of interactive games, physical comedy and lots of laughs for everyone. Children are invited to join in and explore their creativity with workshops led by local practitioners including shadow book making, zine making with Ashburton's Gnash Comics, a manga masterclass and more. After 40 years as a touring theatre company earning their reputation as a leading name of children's theatre in the Southwest, since 2023 Alibi has been operating a venue from their St Thomas base of Emmanuel Hall. Following the success of Winterwood, an immersive Christmas experience which saw a real pine tree forest spring up inside the venue, What If...? marks the next major event for Alibi and an opportunity for families in Exeter and beyond to experience everything their space has to offer.
