Few people are better placed to ask this question than Anthony Seldon, known not only as a highly respected historian but also as an astute political commentator. He has produced authoritative biographies of prime ministers, John Major, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Liz Truss but will be talking at ILF in more general terms, passing on his view of why so much appears to have gone wrong with modern politics. Best known as a historian, Anthony is also an educationalist and regular broadcaster on British television and radio. He is the author or editor of more than 45 books on contemporary history, politics and education.
