The Shoot Out is a unique event as it uses a modified set of rules. All matches last a maximum of ten minutes, with a shot clock of 15 seconds for the first five minutes and just ten seconds for the last five. Players are put under extreme pressure as they battle the clock and their opponent. Mark Allen won the 2023 Shoot Out, beating Cao Yupeng in the final to become the first top-16 ranked player to lift the trophy. Shaun Murphy became the first player to make a 147 in the event.
