Annually, the West of Scotland Schools Orchestra Trust (WSSO) invites talented musicians, aged 11-16, from 12 local authorities across west and central Scotland, to come together for a week of music-making and team-building activities. These dedicated young artists relish the challenge of mastering a demanding and entertaining concert programme, all under the expert direction of WSSO's acclaimed professional musicians and educators. You'll be amazed by the exceptional standards they achieve! This year's programme features beloved string ensemble pieces such as Tchaikovsky's Elegy For Strings and Piazzolla's Libertango, while wind band enthusiasts will be thrilled by Richard Saucedo's Eagles Awake and Scott Watson's delightful Extraordinary Machines of Clockwork and Steam, among many other musical treats.
