Youth Anthems #41 - Geoffrey Oi!Cott
OK, we've had a gentle move into 2025, so now it's time to turn up the volume and bring the punks back! Despite all the mohawks and ripped jeans this is still very much a family-friendly, everybody's welcome, all ages gig. We'll have three live bands (please bring ear defenders for this one as they are a noisy lot!) alongside incredible vegan cakes from That Old Chestnut (https://www.thatoldchestnutishere.com/) and the ever-fantastic Wharf Chambers bar (the coffee is just the ticket!). So, without further ado, this is who we have playing for you between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday May 18th 2025. Geoffrey Oi!Cott https://geoffreyoicott.bandcamp.com/album/motorheadingley We finally got that gig re-scheduled! After having to post-pone their last appearance due to some serious ill health, Leeds's finest proponents of cricket themed oi-punk are back to raise the roof! With their latest album "Motorheadingly" out to incredible reviews, this well oiled punk rock machine will bring takes of darts, crickets and Yorkshire life to you all via the medium of 100mph punk rock! WEGROWBEARDS https://wegrowbeardsband.bandcamp.com/album/the-americas-ep I've know this lot for many many years and it's going to be an absolute honour to bring them to you. History themed punk rock (so it's educational!). With finely crafted punk rock bangers in the vein of Rancid, Bouncing Souls and all the 90's greats but with lyrics covering everything from the Suffragettes through to Guy Fawkes, covering the Romans, Crimean War and the 1936 Olympics in between. Hot Squash https://hotsquashska.bandcamp.com/ Your new favourite ska-punk band! Somewhere between The Pietasters, Bodysnatchers and The Selector. Get your dancing shoes on!
