A grandfather of Glasgow’s Japanese scene and the first spot in town capturing a trendy downtown Tokyo atmosphere, albeit reimagined in a Glasgow tenement with old cornicing mingling with the contemporary, clean décor. There’s a communal buzz with folk enjoying a menu of Japanese favourites such as sushi, ramen, gyoza, soft-shell crab, noodles, bento boxes, grilled specialities, etc. The menu and interior have barely changed since the place opened in 2007, yet it all still feels contemporary, showing how spot-on it all was to start with.
