For imaginative vegan and veggie dishes check out laid-back Sylvan, which was co-founded in 2021 by the former owner and the head chef at indie venue the Hug and Pint. There’s a warm, stripped-back, worn-in feel to the place, and an enticing meat-free menu of clever, globally inspired small plates, with most suitable for vegans. There’s also a big focus on wines here, with a great selection of natural wines, and loads by the glass (expect about 30) as well as carryout choices. The wine focus extends to regular tastings and fairs, and the occasional producer visit.
