La Barca Spanish Tapas and Wine Bar

La Barca has been the only dedicated tapas option in town for years, attracting diners to its waterfront restaurant with quality cooking, a lively atmosphere and window seats looking across the Clyde. Around 50 tapas go into the extensive menu, split into veggie, meat and seafood. Dishes arrive tapas-style as and when ready, and are well handled across the wide range. There is the occasional nod to Scotland’s fine produce, such as local scallops and bon-bons of haggis and Stornaway black pudding. Paellas for two are available, cooked to order and served in a traditional pan. The large bar, opposite a huge landscape mural, dishes out sangria, cocktails and sherry, in keeping with a proper Iberian fiesta.
