For the first time last year, the Meadows became home to Circus Hub: a spiegeltent and traditional circus tent housing a variety of acts from all over the world. It has now been confirmed that the venue will be returning for a second year in 2016, and will provide a home for ten world-class shows during the Edinburgh Festival.

This year, the venue (which comprises two tents: The Lafayette and The Beauty) will focus on work from artists based in the UK, Ireland and Australia. The programme is curated by Underbelly, and features two world premieres and a European one to boot.

Programme highlights are Fringe favourite Camille O'Sullivan: The Carny Dream, Briefs' Factory's Sweat Shop, and The Raunch by Underbelly Productions at The Lafayette, and Elixir by Head First Acrobats, Joli: Vyann: Imbalance, and Lost in Translation's The Hogwallops in The Beauty.

Speaking on the Circus Hub, Underbelly Directors Ed Bartlam and Charlie Wood said: ‘We’re delighted to bring Circus Hub back to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for its second year. As we expected with the public appetite for circus, it proved hugely popular with local residents, loyal Fringe audiences and international visitors, selling over 47,000 tickets and winning awards.'

‘Being able to present circus of world-class quality with high technical and presentation requirements also ensured that the artform has its place in the world’s best cultural showcase. Around 200 promoters and producers attended shows at the Circus Hub last year and onward bookings in 14 countries and counting have been confirmed as a result of performances here last year.'

Camille O'Sullivan fans can snap up tickets for her show on Thu 21 Apr, while tickets for the rest of the Circus Hub programme goes on sale on Thu 12 May.
