Drive-In Movies at Edinburgh Airport announce special Halloween programme

The spooky series includes screenings of Ghostbusters, Coco, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and more
With Halloween just around the corner, Edinburgh International Film Festival and Unique Events have announced a special Halloween programme for their outdoor Drive-In Movies at Edinburgh Airport series. The socially distant and spooky screenings will take place between 29 Oct and 1 Nov.
The four-day Halloween weekend programme features cinema classics including Ghostbusters, Jaws, The Lost Boys and Halloween, family favourites E.T., Coco and Jurassic Park, as well as cult films The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Donnie Darko and Labyrinth.
The final film of the weekend, which will take place on Sunday night, will be determined by public vote. Audiences can help determine the Fright Night Favourite horror film by participating in Edinburgh International Film Festival's poll on Twitter and Facebook and voting for either Psycho, The Thing, The Exorcist or Scream.
Similar to the successful Drive-In Movies opening weekend in August, audio will be broadcast straight to cars for audiences to control the soundtrack and the films will be shown on a state of the art 100sqm LED screen, which is one of the largest mobile screens in the world.
The series promises to be a fun event for the entire family with plenty of entertainment prior to each screening. Edinburgh DJ Stewart Calverto will return as 'Count Calverto' to lead a Halloween-themed sing-along car disco and quizzes with spot prizes. Prizes will also be awarded for the best Halloween costumes and best 'Car-ved Pumpkins' displayed on dashboards.
In addition to the pre-film entertainment, fish and chips will be available from Scottish seafood specialists Alandas, plus Edinburgh-based award-winning brewery Cold Town Beer will be onsite with beer, cocktails, burgers and nachos.
Drive-In Movies at Edinburgh Airport is a great way to celebrate Halloween safely and socially distanced. Tickets for the film screenings are priced at £27.50–£35 per vehicle (for up to 5 people) and are available now at edinburghdrivein.co.uk.
