Reading Festival 2015: travel information, opening times, lineup and stage splits

Festival information for those travelling to Reading over the Bank Holiday weekend
Reading Festival is just around the corner. In between sourcing a backpack big enough for all your beverages and choosing the right pair of novelty sunglasses you can plan how to get to and from the festival site and check out which bands and artists are on what stage over the three days.
Travel Information
Coach
National Express are the festival’s exclusive coach partner and they’re running services from over 35 major cities across the south of England and Wales. There’s even a discount if you’re travelling in a group of four or more. Yay bus friends.
Train
Reading Train Station is approximately 15–20 minutes walk from the festival site. If you don’t fancy lugging your tent across town there are shuttle buses running from the station, and Friar Street, for £1 from Wed 26 to Mon 31.
Taxi
Taxis are available from Reading Station. The main festival taxi pick up/drop off point is on Tessa Road, near the Red Gate. Taxi’s can not access drop-off at the White Campsite. If you want to avoid queues when leaving you can pre-book a private hire to collect you from the designated pick-up area on Cremyll Road at the end of Tessa Road. Taxi fares will be 50% higher after midnight on Sunday due to the bank holiday, so don’t spend all your change at the noodle van.
Car
Reading Festival ask that you follow AA signage and the directions on your car pass, not your Sat Nav, Sat Nav will lead you astray. There are two public car parks. All cars coming from the north or west of Reading should head for the White Car Park, in Mapledurham, next to the White Campsite. Vehicles coming from the east or south should use the Green Car Park in Kings Meadows. There is no access for drop offs or pick-ups at either car park. If you’re getting a lift the drop off/pick-up point is at Hills Meadow Car Park. You then get to board the boat!
Boat
Yep that’s right, cruising into the festival on a boat – you really have made it in life. The free shuttle boats run between the Green Car Park in Kings Meadow and the Green Pedestrian Gate. The journey only takes five minutes but if you feel a sudden bout of river sickness you can talk the towpath to the gate in 20 minutes. the boat service runs Wed 6pm until midnight; Thu-Sun 8am–2am; and Mon 8am until midday.
Opening Times
Campsite
Want to grab that sweet spot near, but not too near, the toilets? The campsite opens Wed 26 at 6pm for early entry pass holders and Thu 27 at 8am for weekend ticket holders. The campsite closes at 1pm on Mon 31, best set an alarm.
Arena
The arena is open Fri 28–Sun 30 from 11am until 4am. Day ticket holders can enter from 9.30am.
