Spreadsheets at the ready – the set times for Glastonbury 2015 have been released.

Making it a whole lot easier to plan an itinerary, it has been revealed that Foo Fighters finish up Friday on the Pyramid Stage at 9.15pm; Kanye on Saturday at 10.15pm and The Who bring the weekend to a close on Sunday at 9.45pm.

The full schedule for the Other Stage, West Holts, the Park Stage and the John Peel Stage are also available.

From the sublime to the ridiculous, there are more than 140 acts to choose from, and a guide of some must-sees would be handy. Lucky for you, we've written one.

The obvious choices

Consider yourself unworthy that legendary songwriter, Burt Bacharach (Pyramid Stage, Sat. 4.30pm), is gracing the Glasto stage with his well-appointed songbook. His afternoon slot leaves plenty of time to prepare for the one everyone's talking about, father-to-be and egotastic rapper Kanye West (Pyramid Stage. Sat. 10.15pm), will be the one to watch on Saturday night, so you can say you were there for this controversial headline choice. Sunday sees an early slot for Patti Smith (Pyramid Stage, Sun, 1.15pm), but it would be unwise to miss the veteran punk poet who now has a fine line in festival appearances, then there's a straight run of jangling indie from Belle & Sebastian (The Other Stage. Sun. 6.45pm), gruff indie from The Fall (The Park Stage. Sun. 7.30pm), before finishing with inspired collaboration, Franz Ferdinand and Sparks, or FFS (The John Peel Stage, Sun. 10.05pm).

Worth seeing

Catch up on what's going on with Russian activists Pussy Riot, talking about the fallout from their now infamous cathedral performance (The Park Stage, Fri. Noon), before making a tough choice between New York hip hop duo Run the Jewels (West Holts. Fri. 7pm) or electronic post-dubstep from 'New York New Dorp' hitmakers SBTRKT (The John Peel Stage. Fri. 7.45pm.). Saturday brings a choice between Mercury-winning Scot hip hop from Young Fathers (The Other Stage. Sat. 2.45pm) or electro punk in the form of Sleaford Mods (The John Peel Stage. Sat. 3pm).

Ach, you may as well

Glastonbury without the token 'novelty' act would be amiss, so catch Lionel Ritchie warming up the afternoon (Pyramid Stage. Sun. 4pm), then there's Pharrell (Pyramid Stage. Sat. 8pm) who is bound to sing 'Happy', so you may as well be around for that. Foo Fighters are top of the bill on Friday (Pyramid Stage. Fri. 9.15pm), so if you're not doing anything else, head over there. The big surprise Sunday night headliners turned out to be The Who (Pyramid Stage, Sun, 9.45pm) – not a terrible choice, but hardly worth the build-up afforded to them in the lead-up to the announcement. We'd prefer one of the more interesting options thrown about by the wondering general public.
