According to reports, an new Indiana Jones film may well be in the works, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy telling Vanity Fair about the possible sequel: ‘When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.’

With nothing set in stone (or hidden in a treacherous cave of some description), all we can do right now is think about who could pull off Indy’s fedora (and, you know, play the legendary part half well).

Harrison Ford
Who better to play Indiana Jones than Indiana Jones? It’s not been confirmed whether Harrison will be reprising the role, and some critics are of the opinion that a younger man may be the one to don Indy’s khakis, but we’re not giving up hope. Harrison himself has said in the past that it would be ‘perfectly appropriate’, and who are to disagree? After all, the guy was Indiana Jones.

Bradley Cooper
There have been rumours flying around that Bradley Cooper might take on Indy, though producers reportedly dismissed them as ‘ridiculous’. But cool your utility boots a second and let’s think about this. He’s had some half-decent roles in the past, from Silver Linings Playbook to American Sniper, and he could do the character justice. Also, is it just us, or does he have a whiff of Ford about him?

Charlie Hunnam
The Sons of Anarchy star stepped back from role of Christian Grey back in 2013, leaving his career Fifty Shades Freed. Now could be the ideal time for Hunnam to step into the shoes of a slightly more credible lead, *insert obvious joke about whips here*.

Sam Heughan
You know, that terribly handsome chap from Outlander. Heughan has built up quite a fanbase since taking on the role of well-kilted young Jaime in the Starz show, and we’re sure his band of Heughligans would be more than happy to see him on the big screen (though Jaime’s sgian-dubh and pistol may look a little out of place).

Chris Evans
When saving the world one shield-swing at a time starts to get old, the Captain America star could consider jumping in a landrover and going to explore some kind of ancient ruin. After the Avengers and Fantastic Four, any other role might seem like a bit of an anti-climax.

Well, something to think about, at least.
