Rock Ness had a good run, but this year Nessie will be treated to the sounds of electro, house and techno as the UK’s newest dance festival, Groove Loch Ness, sets up on the shores of the Loch. Groove Loch Ness is a back-to-basics dance festival with one main stage and an initial capacity of 5,000.

So who’s on the bill for the debut festival?

Groove Armada
The London electronic duo responsible for ‘I See You Baby’ will celebrate their twentieth anniversary in 2016. They’ve released eight studio albums including Vertigo, Black Light and White Light, a series of re-recording and live versions of songs from Black Light. The duo are due to play Forbidden Fruit Festival, Kendal Calling and Lovebox before headlining Groove Loch Ness in an exclusive Scottish Festival appearance.

Belgium brothers David & Stephen Dewaele are known for their official and unofficial remixes. The duo, originally named The Fucking Dewaele Brothers/The Flying Dewaele Brothers, have a firm hold in Europe's leading dance festivals and as is the case with Groove Armada, Groove Loch Ness will be their only Scottish date.

B.Traits
The Canadian producer and DJ presents a Friday night underground dance music show on BBC Radio1. Her debut single Fever featuring Elisabeth Troy was released in 2012, peaking at number 36 in the UK chart.

Harri & Domenic
Residents at Glasgow’s iconic electronic music Sub Club, the pair have hosted Subculture since 1994, making it the longest running house night in the UK. Harri and Domenic Cappello have headlined slots at UK underground clubs such as Back2Basics, Chibuku and Fabric as well as international venues Panorama Bar (Berlin), Moog (Barcelona) and Deep (Madrid).

Filth DJs
Representing the local music scene are Inverness’ own purveyors of all things underground house, techno and electro. Following the closure of Motion DJs, Ross Lyall and Andrew McGibbon created alternative club night Filth. The club was so popular that within two months it moved to the Ironworks, the biggest live music venue in the highlands. The pair were a regular feature at Rock Ness, playing three years in a row.
