BBC 6 Music Festival 2015 to take place on Tyneside

Interpol, Royal Blood, Mogwai, Young Fathers, The Cribs and King Creosote confirmed
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event in Manchester, the BBC 6 Music Festival is heading to Tyneside this February.
Each evening ‘6 Music Festival by Night’ will be held at various locations across both sides of the River Tyne. Featured artists include Interpol, Royal Blood, King Creosote, Mogwai, Jamie T, Sleater-Kinney, The Maccabees, Jon Hopkins, British Sea Power, The Cribs and Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers.
The festival kicks off on Fri 20 Feb at the O2 Academy in Newcastle and continues over the weekend at Sage Gateshead, featuring performances from Hot Chip, Maximo Park, Ghostpoet and an intriguing collaboration between Mercury prize nominee Kate Tempest and folk singer Eliza Carthy.
The Boiler Shop hosts a special club night for the festival, with DJ sets from 6 Music’s Anne Hobbs, Jamie xx, Four Tet and Gilles Peterson.
The free daytime programme '6 Music Festival by Day' includes more live music as well as comedians, on-stage interviews with artists, film screenings and record fairs along Tyneside.
Tickets for 6 Music Festival By Night are available to purchase from Fri 30 Jan. Tickets for 6 Music Festival by Day will be allocated via an audience ballot on Tue 3 Feb.
