American collective The Neo-Futurists could be the ultimate contradiction: high-minded slackers with rockets up their asses.

An audacious project, where a cast perform thirty 'plays' in an hour, this has the vibe of a happening, where the philosophical collides with childish lunacy. As the audience enter the space, they are presented with a menu, from which they are asked to shout out a number. The corresponding number has a scenario which will be acted out in around three minutes.

As with many skit shows, not all of it works: Boys Gone Wild is a little obvious; Let's Grow Old Together emotionally manipulative; but Eugene O' Neill stage directions mashed up into three minutes, the song 'Bucket Hugger' which sounds like Yo La Tengo via Demetri Martin, and an 'anti-mime' all border on genius.

Gregarious gangling Cecil Baldwin and spiky pixie Megan Cohen are the two finest performers, but others will have their favourites. All six cast members are superb, handling the density and frivolity with equal aplomb.

Their warmth, kinetic force and humanity melts Scottish cynicism – there's surely no finer way to end a show than cast and audience dancing together to LCD Soundsystem, covered in blue paint.
