Netflix are apparently planning on spending a whopping $8 billion on producing their own content in 2018 with ambitious plans to have a library populated with 50% original content by the end of the year. This will include approximately 80 new films and the return of favourites such as Jessica Jones, Orange is the New Black and Stranger Things (though rumours suggest ST might not be back until 2019) but here we focus on the brand new shows heading to Netflix for 2018.

Altered Carbon
High concept sci-fi about a future where minds can be downloaded into new bodies (known as sleeves). Therefore the rich can live indefinitely. The first season focuses on an ex-soldier (Joel Kinnaman) attempting to solve the murder of the richest man on earth (James Purefoy).

Letterman
Late night TV host David Letterman will be returning to our screens on Netflix. So far details are pretty thin on the ground (we don't even know what it'll be called) but it looks like it will feature hour long interviews rather than the multi-guest talk show format he perfected over 30 years.
