The latest edition of our live gig series explores the various subgenres of rock
Our next ListLive event is shaping up to be yet another genre-crossing affair, this time exploring the various subgenres of rock. Scottish quintet The LaFontaines specialise in combining danceable indie rock with a lyrical hip hop overlay (not to mention a frequent splash of humour – see their tribute/parody ‘Biggy Clyro’ below).
They’ll be supported by somewhat Biffy-esque melodic rockers New City Kings. The foursome, who hail from Essex, have a knack for crafting big, anthemic choruses and singalong hooks. Also on the bill are Fizzy Blood, who favour a more stomping, swaggering, retro-rock aesthetic akin to Queens of the Stone Age.
ListLive, The Monarch, Camden, Thu 27 Mar.
