WATCH: The teaser trailer for Scarlett Johansson sci-fi Under the Skin

The film, adapted from the novel by Michel Faber, is directed by Jonathan Glazer
Many modern movie trailers can be accused of giving away too much information, with patrons feeling they no longer need to actually watch the film having witnessed the entire extent of the plot. The latest piece of footage for Michel Faber adap Under the Skin is not among that group; a narrativeless teaser, it offers only glimpses of Scarlett Johansson's predatory alien, accompanied by Mica Levi’s unsettling (and much lauded) score.
While there have been some grumbles about the spoileriffic nature of the film's approved synopsis (Johansson's character wasn't revealed as an alien until quite a bit into Faber's novel), the new footage makes clear that this is very much director Jonathan Glazer's version of events, and we'd argue that some advance familiarity with established plot details won't provide an obstacle to enjoying what looks to be a stark and sensory experience in filmmaking.
Under the Skin will go on selected release from Fri 14 Mar.
