Katy Perry will begin her year-long Prismatic world tour in the UK, it was announced today. Scheduled to begin on Wed 7 May 2014, the arena tour will start in Belfast before continuing through Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield and London.

The tour is in support of Perry's latest album, Prism, which is her second to grab the number one slot in the UK charts. Prism has sold over 100,000 copies in the UK, and the lead single, ‘Roar’, recently went platinum.

Support for the Prismatic tour will be provided by by Swedish synth-pop duo Icona Pop, whose single ‘I Love It’ (feat Charli XCX) also topped the UK singles chart.
