Fuck Buttons and Gabriel Orozco - Laurie Corlett-Donald of Discopolis shares his recommendations

The Edinburgh-based electro-pop musician picks out some key highlights in the coming months
Fuck Buttons
On the Tue 10 Sep Glasgow will see the triumphant return of Bristol based Fuck Buttons. Having not graced Scotland in over three years the duo return playing songs from their third album Slow Focus. The album has already become their first record to break into the UK top 40 and the pair recently played a packed headline slot on Glastonbury's Park Stage. Blending a mix of carefully crafted Electronic music with shoegaze soundscapes all executed to perfection live. This is not one to be missed if you are a fan of 'going for it' at a gig as their set will most likely send you into both rave generated euphoria and grunge induced head thrashing.

Gabriel Orozco: thinking in circles
This is the first time Mexican artist Gabriel Orozco's work has been exhibited so extensively in Edinburgh. The show pulls together work from different eras of his back catalogue, including his circular paintings such as 'The Eye of Go' and his incredible granite rock sculptures. The selected pieces give an incredible insight into his way of thinking. It is also the first chance to see his 'Geometric Works on Acetate', which have never before been exhibited in a public setting. Whether Gabriel Orozco is a new discovery or you are familiar with all his work, this is a brilliant chance to gain a perspective on an artist who is both diverse and and uniquely imaginative.
The Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh, until Fri 18 Oct.
