We've already picked the comedians who made us laugh this year. Now it's the turn of funny folk we liked in 2019 as they choose the things that made them giggle the most during the last 12 months.

I will forever remember 2019 as the year that we got to see doe-eyed doll Lily-Rose Depp kissing porcelain prince Timothée Chalamet on a boat. If you don't know who these people are: that's OK, I didn't either. I think they are both models / actors / beautiful sentient mannequins: it's genuinely easier to list the jobs they don't do. In September they were spending some time on a yacht and a photo surfaced of them kissing. Dear reader, I am not ashamed to admit that it's been my phone background ever since. It's not that they don't know how to kiss; it's that it feels like we have all collectively been doing kissing wrong. It looks like they are both trying to swallow each other, which is simultaneously the funniest and the hottest thing I've ever seen in my life. Young love is beautiful, especially when it looks like the beginning of a body swap comedy, where the two characters exchange souls through deep Frenching.

Garrett Millerick

I watched The Art of Self-Defense on a plane recently. I hadn't heard anything about it but I like Jesse Eisenberg so I gave it a bash. It's absolutely brilliant. A real broadside. There's a scene in it where he's learning a language that's just sublime. I laughed so much I was getting odd looks from the cabin crew. Haven't laughed like that at a film in years. It's funny, inventive and dark. Seek it out and round off 2019 with a treat.

The thing that made me laugh the most would be Wanda Sykes Netflix comedy special Not Normal. So funny and smart and perfect: the work of a master with one of the best Trump jokes ever written.

The hardest I've laughed this year was when I played Father Christmas who had sadly become a victim of identity theft. In an exclusive interview with comic Mat Ewins, I explained to a bewitched audience how I accosted the charlatan in my grotto. I had noticed he always watched the entrance and so I surprised him by coming through the grotto's exit. However, he was so good at his job, I'd get on his knee, tell him what I wanted for Christmas and then leave. This chat went on for about ten minutes, in which time the audience didn't know what I was talking about, Mat wasn't quite sure, and in the end neither was I. I was delirious, caught in a loop I couldn't escape from impersonating someone who had been impersonated and who was bloody cross about it. That, or in Amsterdam seeing a tea maid attached to a gimp mask.

The confidence this little legend has singing this song without knowing the words is incredible. In fact, I really prefer this version so I'm going to learn it and sing it every day. I love him.

I've seen some wonderful stand-up this year, watched a few really great comedy films, and read a couple of funny books. However, the funniest thing that I've seen this year was an episode of Just for Laughs where a woman asks strangers if she can sit on their shoulders to retrieve something stuck in a tree. She then plays havoc with a fart machine. It's hilarious. Get on YouTube now. My brother and I laughed until we cried. I guess I'm high-brow.
