What time is breakfast?
I’m pretty good at getting up for breakfast; my appetite is fierce and I’d happily wolf down a full roast dinner at 7am.

Tea or coffee?
I love both tea and coffee very much. I think most people would agree that tea is a more personal drink, akin to a warm, milky friend. I’ve always had this thing that you can’t drink both within a short space of time: they’d fight in your belly because they are sworn enemies.

Smoking or non-smoking?
NON. Smoking is for losers.

Sweet or savoury snacks?
These questions are tough because I’m disgusting and love everything, and would happily eat all of this stuff at the same time.

What food do you miss when you tour?
Greggs.

Who’s the best cook you know?
My friend Eddie cooked a superb roast chicken dinner the other night. It’s hard to choose a favourite part of it, but on this occasion the roast parsnips were beyond words.

What’s on your rider?
Toblerone.

Which country/ city has the best food?
Initially America was great: you are paralysed with choice. The problem I found was that I started having to undo my belt and top button before each gig.

Do you eat out a lot?
Not really, I’m relatively good at making things at home. I’m not fancy at cooking; I think it’s important to have a few staples like lasagne and shepherd’s pie in your repertoire.

Do you drink onstage?
These days I only have a beer, previously I drank a lot but I think that was for the nerves. I definitely couldn’t do that now.

Admiral Fallow play the Barrowland, Glasgow, Sat 8 Dec.
