Track from singer songwriter's debut album remixed by indie-electro synthsters Discopolis
Indie-electro synthsters Discopolis have given us an exclusive free download of their new Rachel Sermanni remix. 'The Fog' is taken from Sermanni’s latest album Under Mountains, which we described as an album ‘full of life, and landscape, and promise’. Taking the jaunty, folksy vocals of the original, the Edinburgh-based threesome have given the track an electro-house makeover. The original track’s mystery and jilted edge come through in Rachel’s voice, but Discopolis’ driving beats and euphoric synths keep it poppy, upbeat and dance-able.
The up-and-coming trio have had a good couple of years since forming in 2010, doing the festival rounds in 2011 including the main stage at RockNess and the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds. Currently unsigned, their talent will likely land them a record deal sooner rather than later, and they’ve been tipped as ones to watch for 2013. Following their recent gigs with Simian Mobile Disco, The Whip and Orbital (as well as a slot at a recent RBS Museum Lates event, supporting Django Django), Discopolis are playing Edinburgh’s Haddowfest 2012 alongside The Cribs, Hadouken! and Miaoux Miaoux.
