This is a truly beautiful little show; a quirky blend of images, music, storytelling and gentle gags combine for a memorable reflection on the importance of speaking up for what you believe in. Workman is the winner of a fair few awards (best comedy at the Adelaide Fringe for this show being one of them); on the evidence of this hour it's not surprising.

Beginning at the end as all good stories do, Augustus walks across an almost deserted beach in Cuba one night. After the birth of their daughter and having insulted Castro in print, he's forced to leave his wife Frida and the newborn Claudia so he can receive his punishment - being sent out to sea in a boat full of cabbages and circled by smiling sharks.

Workman's tale tugs at the heart strings in part due to the Nyman-esque piano compositions that are sometimes songs, sometimes instrumental accompaniment to the cute cartoons projected on screen. Simply lovely.
