As world leaders gather in Glasgow at that last chance saloon for our planet (how many times is that now?), climate change is once more the talk of the town. But it's not all about politicians being steered towards doing something positive for the environment over the next fortnight: COP26 is the focus for a whole bunch of one-off events and mini-festivals as the cultural community has its say. Here is a mere selection of top goings-on across Scotland
Concerts For Climate
A bumper evening of Scottish musicians across the genres club together with the dual aim of giving us a great gig and protecting the planet. Twin Atlantic, Admiral Fallow, Rachel Sermanni and the National Youth Pipe Band are among the acts.

Corey Baker Dance
A live performance entitled Renewable Moves comes from the company formed by this New Zealand-born, Birmingham-based choreographer, while their short film, Blown, about dance and wind turbines, is on the iPlayer now.

Karine Polwart, The Soundhouse Choir & Oi Musica
Gaia, Luke Jerram's astounding NASA-assisted recreation of planet Earth as viewed from space, rises above Karine Polwart, The Soundhouse Choir and Oi Musica in this unique collaboration to perform a piece that couldn't be better titled for COP26: 'Enough Is Enough'.

Living Proof: A Climate Story
This feature-length archive documentary traces the roots of our climate crisis through a prism of Scotland's post-war history, and soundtracked by Scotland's musicians both past and present.

Red Note Ensemble: Sub Mari
The contemporary music collective presents a multimedia project which contrasts the shortage of water in Chile with its abundance in Scotland. During the accompanying documentary, a Chilean youth choir teams up with the school singers of Levenmouth Academy.

The Dear Green Bothy Soundwalk
Sound researchers and composers Sound Thought presents a curated soundwalk of locations around the West End of Glasgow, exploring notions of acoustic ecology and the impact of humans and noise pollution on our local environments.

The Landing Hub
Just a 15-minute walk from the COP26 conference site is The Landing Hub which forms part of the wider Sustainable Glasgow Landing site. Among the cultural highlights are a poem artwork by conceptual artist Robert Montgomery, an opening night party with The Pilgrims Of Nature and Seed Sistas, and Climate Grief Karaoke by performance artist Katy Dye who offers a 'public service' for people to express their pain about the environment via the medium of cheesy pop.

The Loving Earth
A celebration but also a warning, this exhibition features the people, places and creatures that we love but which are continually threatened by the eco disaster which is looming.
