This lunchtime cabaret-burlesque offering from Des O'Connor (not to be confused with a certain perma-tanned chat show host), Sarah-Louise Young (definitely not the first porn actress to earn more than $1m for a single film, even if she'd welcome the cash) and Mr B (the one and only Gentleman rhymer) goes down a treat - as well it should given the trio's prodigious Fringe work-rate.

Young – in Edinburgh for the eighth time – is also appearing in Cabaret Whore Encore, Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and Vive Le Cabaret. The globetrotting, ukulele-armed O'Connor hosts Vive Le Cabaret, compering for the chap-hopping, generously bespectacled Mr B, among others.

One of the risks inherent in this show format is the possibility of jarring between three performers with such different on-stage personalities and styles. O'Connor, eyes fluttering beneath big hair and purple eye-glitter, combines exuberance with vulnerability, Young belts out numbers like there's no tomorrow and Mr B's rap antics offer a singular mixture of old-Etonian class prejudice and the street.

Yet the flow breaks only rarely – all the more impressive given that the show's arc ranges from getting legless on 'shite white wine' to sticking up two fingers and singing 'I don't care' about world problems such as climate change and poverty. Multi-instrumentalist musical skills and mercurial, light-speed lyrics get the cabaret rollercoaster from A to Z in style, seguing effortlessly from Mr B bemoaning the lack of kissing in porn to O'Connor's tender ditty about rock festival loving.

Yet it's perhaps Young who emerges as the stand-out element. Her richly textured voice, careering and soaring, holds the room, and the audience, in a vice-like grip from beginning to end.
