M&D’s: Scotland’s Theme Park

M&D’s is the place to go for the classic amusement park experience, with rollercoasters, a fun house, dodgems and more. The Motherwell venue also celebrates its 30th anniversary this year with brand new rides such as the Wild Mouse rollercoaster and the Freak Out pendulum ride, a visit from Bonnie Brontosaurus (Europe’s largest dinosaur) and performances from the Road Runner.

Landmark Forest Adventure Park

With 22 attractions, Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge has a little bit of everything. Daredevils can slide down the near-vertical 50ft raft ride The Falcon, or leap into the air with the Skydive parachute simulation. Meanwhile, there’s plenty for families and young children from adventure playground Ant City to the Dinosaur Kingdom, where you can meet the terrifying T-Rex or dig for fossils.

Visit the official Landmark Park site.

The Time Capsule

Named by Time Out as one of the best waterparks in the UK, The Time Capsule in Coatbridge boasts a wave pool, rapids, a giant tipping bucket and twisting ten metres-high twin flumes, the Storm Chasers. Best of all is the three-storey Tornado Tantrum, one of the only waterslides of its kind in Europe, where up to four people can shoot down at once.
